Choosing graphics for your work vehicle
Cut lettering, printed graphics or a partial wrap? A practical guide to planning van and truck branding, getting a useful quote and preparing for fitting.
Start with what customers need to read
Your business name, what you do and one easy contact route are usually the essentials. A photograph of each side and the rear helps us see the actual space available. Doors, handles, window recesses and panel joins all affect the design.
Cut lettering, printed graphics or a partial wrap?
Cut vinyl lettering suits straightforward names, logos and contact details. Printed graphics allow images, gradients and more complex artwork. A partial wrap adds larger areas of colour while retaining some of the vehicle's existing finish. The right choice depends on your design, budget and the condition of the panels.
You do not have to decide the production method yourself. Tell us the look you want and send your logo; we can discuss a suitable approach.
What affects the cost of van signwriting?
Coverage is only part of the price. Design preparation, the type of vinyl, printing and lamination where required, removal of old graphics and fitting all contribute. A simple lettering job and a large printed livery are different scopes, even on the same van.
For a useful comparison between quotes, check which panels are included, whether design and fitting are covered, and whether existing graphics need removal. Ask what material is being proposed for the application.
What artwork should I send?
Original vector artwork, such as a usable SVG, EPS or PDF, is helpful for logos and lettering. A PDF can also contain low-resolution images, so the file extension alone does not guarantee quality. If all you have is a photograph or a small logo image, send it anyway and we will explain what preparation may be needed.
Planning fitting and vehicle downtime
Tell us when the vehicle is available and whether it has existing graphics or recent paint repairs. We will confirm preparation, fitting arrangements and timing for the particular job. Do not assume graphics can be applied immediately to newly painted panels.
Ordering graphics for a growing fleet
Different vehicle models need adapted layouts. Keep a copy of your approved logo and artwork so future vehicles and replacement panels can be assessed against the same design. Send photos of the existing fleet when requesting another vehicle.
Get a quote for your actual vehicle
Send the make, model and year, photographs, your logo if available, the panels to cover and your town or postcode. Approximate details are enough to start a conversation.
